Boat foam is a 2 part polyurethane foam.

Pour Foam will expand to a 2 lb density foam when mixed together.

Preparation:

Completely dry the area where foam will be added.  An inlet and vent hole will need to be added to where the foam will be added. If a vent is not added, the expansion of the foam can cause damage to its surroundings. Make 1.5" to 2" vent hole. Calculate the volume that will need to be filled with foam.  Use the chart below to calculate the amount of foam needed.  NOTE: 2 part polyurethane foam reacts very quickly - USUALLY LESS THAN 1 MINUTE!!! Have everything ready ahead of time.

Measuring and Mixing:

Using plastic cups, measure equal parts of "A" (activator) and "B" (base).  Pour each one into a paper mixing container.  Stir briskly for 30 seconds. For best results, use a small paint mixer and cordless drill.  The chemical reaction will begin within 30 seconds.  Pour liquid into the inlet hole. Try not to overfill. Allow several minutes for the foam to finish expanding.  Let stand for 30 minutes. More foam can be added and it will bond to itself, if enough foam was not mixed the first time. If foam is coming out the vent hole, allow it to cure, then remove with a razor blade or saw.

DO NOT REUSE PAPER BUCKETS! THE FOAM WILL NOT WORK!

DO NOT GET LIQUID FOAM ON GEL COAT, IT WILL STAIN GEL COAT!*

*If foam gets on existing gel coat, the only way to remove it is to sand with wet and dry sandpaper (220-400 grit).
