Proglas 1000 is a clear, tough, high gloss, water resistant UV epoxy resin. It creates a deep glass like appearance on a sealed surface. It is most often used on table, counter and bar top applications but can also be used for other projects including art and jewelry. It has an easy 1:1 mix ratio and is self- leveling.
Uses-
-Table, counter and bar top applications
-Art
-Clear Coatings
-Epoxy Putty Applications
Application-
-Make sure resin and room temperature is between 75-80°F for optimal results.
-Wear protective gloves and eyewear.
-Work on a clean, dry surface. Protect the floor from drips and spills.
-Measure out equal parts Part A and Part B by volume.
-Pot Life @ 77°F is approximately 51 minutes
-Gel Time @ 77°F is approximately 55 minutes
-Steadily stir for several minutes before pouring into another clean mixing cup and stirring for an additional several minutes. Scrape down the sides and bottom of mixing cup while stirring to make sure everything is mixed evenly. Do not stir too vigorously as this will cause air bubbles. (Resin will appear hazy for the first few minutes of stirring but this will clear up) A tongue depressor or paint stick could be used for stirring.
-A seal coat can be poured first, if needed. Seal coats often prevent more air bubbles from forming in the flood coat. Use a foam brush or squeegee to create a thin layer on the surface. If seal coat is used, let the resin cure for at least four hours before pouring the flood coat.
-For the flood coat, pour the resin down the length of the surface. Tools are not required as the resin will self-level. Do not pour more than 1/8” thick. If additional thickness is needed, let the flood coat cure for 4-6 hours before adding additional coats.
-Once the flood coat is in place, use a heat gun or blow torch to get rid of any air bubbles that may have formed. Hold the heat source approximately 6-8 inches above the surface.
-Make sure the room temperature stays between 75-80°F for the entire cure time. Full cure time will take between 24-72 hours.
**Proglas 1000 is not meant for applications that will have extensive exposure to sunlight. If Proglas 1000 is used on an outdoor application, use a UV protected automotive clear coat once resin is fully cured.
Storage-
-Store in closed containers in a cool, dry place away from sunlight or heat sources.
-Proglas 1000 will have a minimum shelf life of one year if properly stored.
Clean Up-
Clean tools and equipment promptly with acetone before resin cures.
Sizes-
Gallon, 2 gallon, 10 gallon kits
